Inter Modal Shift (IMS)

Environmentally friendly and capable of cutting expenditure, this is the Inter Modal Shift operated by Har Vaessen Transport BV. This permanent scheduled rail service to Italy represents a transport solution which circumvents German and Austrian Maut (toll), Swiss LSVA lorry charges and Italian toll, and is separate from diesel surcharges, which have the effect of raising costs.
In addition, thanks to maximum security there is no need for guarded parking facilities en route and risks are confined to a minimum.
 
Rail transport is provided by Hupac and ensures an extremely high turnover. Trains depart for the vicinity of Milan as frequently as seven times a day. Har Vaessen Transport BV has permanently reserved space on these trains and therefore always enjoys priority. In this way, safe transport is guaranteed without any delay caused by tailbacks, accidents en route or weather conditions. Equally important, the environment is spared considerably thanks to the absence of emissions.
Timely delivery continues to be guaranteed by virtue of the fact that goods are delivered on site using the company's own vehicles.

In the case of IMS 45” high-cube containers (box and curtainsiders) are used thereby boosting the load factor by approximately 20% in terms of weight.
