Security

Attacks directed against truck drivers and their freight costs transport companies in the EU billions of euros every year, not to mention the consequential loss involved. Because the prevention of damage and the theft of goods is unfortunately becoming part of the service which a logistics service provider is increasingly required to provide, security is high on the list of priorities of the various subsidiaries of the Har Vaessen group. Its logistics centre, trucks, containers and the Inter Modal Shift offer maximum security.

Logistics centre
The heavily guarded premises in Swalmen are hermetically sealed by a certified electric fence coupled with 24-hour monitoring by an external control centre. Such security has only been implemented in this comprehensive fashion in several other places in the Netherlands. Certified electrification is also a feature of its extra high automatic gateway. Every entry and exit is monitored electronically. In addition, the company's own personnel guard its premises 24 hours a day seven days a week.

Containers
Only box containers fitted with certified safety locks are used.

Trucks
All of the trucks are equipped with a BV3+ alarm and an immobiliser. As soon as the system is engaged, it is no longer possible to start the vehicle concerned. In addition, all of the trucks are fitted with on-board computers equipped with GPS. This makes it possible to trace the rigs via satellite.

Inter Modal Shift (IMS)
Exclusive use is made of secure terminals equipped with camera surveillance for Inter Modal Shift. The containers are placed on the rails with their doors facing each other with the result that it is impossible for any unauthorised person to open them. All containers are stored two levels up on the terminal grounds as provided for in a contract. As a result they cannot be accessed from the ground. The authorised employees of Har Vaessen Transport BV are registered with the terminals and may only remove any containers after they have identified themselves to the appropriate authorities.
